Have you named all the people in your pictures? It's easy to do, and the more you do it, the smarter Photos gets!

Photos has a very impressive facial recognition feature which learns as it goes and is actually very, very good at it. In this session we explore the People feature on my personal library and look at each of its features, including…

  • Discuss advancements in Photos 3 (macOS High Sierra) over previous versions
  • Show how to completely reset the People database to start over if you need to (spoiler alert: you probably don't need to!)
  • Learn how to name, rename, add or remove tags, favorite, and more to an individual
  • Explore Siri searching (which sometimes works great… and sometimes… well…)
  • Merge groups that are of the same person
  • Explore relationships
  • and more!

Watch Apple Photos for iOS “People” now…

Members have unlimited streaming of this and all Live Training videos included in their membership. Anyone can purchase the video for download.

Apple Photos 3 is a FREE app, included in macOS High Sierra and iOS 11.

I couldn’t watch live, but I have a question:  People are shown in alphabetic order on the main People Page.  Is there any way to sort them by first name or last name?  If Photos is pulling data from my Contacts, you would think that it’s a possibility.  I believe Aperture could not do this, so I got into the habit of entering the last name first, followed by an underscore.  This way relatives are grouped together.

No sorting ability that I've ever seen… good point about relatives though. Huh!
